No analytics, advertising or marketing tools in this release
Daily Forge enables no analytics, advertising or marketing cookies or tools in this release. Analytics, advertising and marketing tools are switched off in the application itself, so they cannot load or send anything, and we do not show you a consent banner or a cookie-preferences panel because there is currently nothing optional to choose between.
What is actually stored in your browser today
Not everything below plays the same role, so we describe it in two groups instead of labelling all of it necessary.
Necessary authentication, session and security storage
- Your sign-in session: our database and authentication infrastructure keeps your sign-in session in your browser's local storage so you can sign in and stay signed in. It lasts until it expires or you sign out. This storage is needed to sign in, maintain your session and protect and deliver the service; without it you cannot use your account.
Functional convenience storage
- A short-lived post-sign-in return path: when sign-in has to pass through the sign-in page, the internal Daily Forge page you were heading to is kept briefly in your browser's session storage and removed as soon as it is used. The app sanitises this value before storing it, so only an internal path on this site is ever stored.
This convenience item makes the app slightly nicer to use; it is not required for the core service. Clearing it only means you land on the default page after signing in, nothing more — it does not prevent you from using any core feature. None of the storage above is used to profile you or to advertise to you.
Provider technology, and what we have not yet verified
Our hosting, database and authentication providers may apply their own technical identifiers, cookies or storage to deliver, secure and protect the service. A final live inventory of what those providers actually set in a browser, and the formal exemption classification of each item, have not yet been completed, so we do not assign their technology a legal label here. We will update this notice as that verification is completed.
We also do not publish invented names or exact lifetimes for provider technology, and providers may change what they use. If you want to see exactly what is set in your browser, your browser's developer tools and site-data settings will show you.
A dormant value from earlier visits
An earlier version of this site stored a consent record named df_consent_v1 in your browser's local storage. Nothing in the current app reads or writes that value any more: it is dormant and has no tracking effect. If it is still present from an earlier visit, you can remove it by clearing site data for this site in your browser.
Clearing storage
You can clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings at any time. Clearing everything will sign you out; clearing only the convenience item removes the post-sign-in return path and nothing else. The core Daily Forge features — Morning Forge, Rescue My Day, Evening Review, tasks, habits and Parking Lot — do not depend on any optional tracking, because none is enabled.
If this changes
If we later introduce optional analytics, advertising or marketing technologies, we will update this notice and put any required choice mechanism in place before they are used. We will not enable them quietly.
